Assessments

Virginia has extensive experience assessing children in a variety of settings.

She is a Law Society Expert Witness for the Court in civil proceedings and has conducted Court assessments for many years.  In her court assessments with school age children she usually uses observational and non-directive play approaches.  With children who are preschool or who are developmentally delayed, she often conducts Court assessments using observational and/or play techniques adapted to the needs of these children.  Virginia’s assessments can include assessments of parenting and assessment of adult-child attachment relationships.  She has written articles and book chapters on these methods of assessment.  See Virginia’s Webpage at the University of York for her publications.
